In a last-minute alteration to the Australian eventing team lineup at CHIO Aachen in Germany, Bill Levett and Sligo Candy Cane have stepped in to replace Shane Rose and Easy Turn. Equestrian Australia confirmed Shane Rose’s unavailability earlier today. Bill Levett and Sligo Candy Cane, a 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse, were part of the Australian eventing team at CHIO Aachen back in 2023.
The Australian team now consists of Sammi Birch with Finduss PFB, Andrew Cooper with Sharvalley Thunder, Kevin McNab with Faro Imp, and the newly added Bill Levett with Sligo Candy Cane. Stuart Tinney will serve as the Chef d’Equipe for the team. The competition is scheduled to kick off on 4 July with dressage starting at 8.30 am local time and jumping at 6 pm local time. The cross country event will take place on 5 July starting at 9.55 am local time.
