US Equestrian has unveiled the Defender U.S. Eventing Team lineup for the upcoming 2025 CHIO Aachen CCIO4*-S competition in Aachen, Germany. The event, part of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup, is set to take place from July 2-5, 2025, showcasing top-notch athlete-and-horse combinations representing the United States.
Chef d’Equipe Leslie Law and Team Leader Christina Vaughn will lead the team, which comprises a talented roster of riders and their equine partners selected for their prowess in eventing.
Among the selected combinations are Will Coleman from Ocala, Florida, riding Off The Record, a seasoned Irish Sport Horse gelding. Phillip Dutton, hailing from West Grove, Pennsylvania, will be aboard Possante, a notable KWPN gelding. Boyd Martin, also from Pennsylvania, will ride Commando 3, a Holsteiner gelding, while Caroline Pamukcu from Springstown, Pennsylvania, will be partnering with HSH Blake, an Irish Sport Horse gelding.
Additionally, James Alliston from San Ramon, California, will compete as an individual combination with his mount, Karma, an Oldenburg mare. The team’s alternates include Jenny Caras with Sommersby, Bruce “Buck” Davidson, Jr. with Cooley Candyman, Boyd Martin with Cooley Nutcracker, and Cassie Sanger with Redfield Fyre.
CHIO Aachen holds a prestigious status in the equestrian world, attracting top riders and horses from across the globe. The CCIO4*-S event will kick off with dressage on July 4, followed by show jumping later that day and cross-country on July 5, culminating in the determination of final team standings.
