CHIO Rotterdam recently hosted an electrifying weekend of dressage, culminating in the Dutch team clinching a narrow victory on home turf. The Dutch riders displayed remarkable prowess, securing a final score just edging out Great Britain in a thrilling competition.
The Dutch team, comprising Thamar Zweistra, Marieke Van Der Putten, Hans Peter Minderhoud, and Marlies Van Baalen, showcased exceptional talent with all four riders achieving impressive scores of 70% or higher in the Grand Prix test. Notably, three of the horses were aged ten or younger, highlighting the team’s youthful dynamism.
Patrick van der Meer, the Chef D’Equipe for the Dutch Team, commended the riders for their performance, particularly praising the inexperienced horses for their composure and progress. Hans Peter Minderhoud stood out with an outstanding individual score, securing second place with his mount, Glock’s Taminiau.

Charlotte Fry continued her success in the Grand Prix Special, delivering a flawless test with Glamourdale. The duo’s exceptional performance earned them a significant lead over the competition. Hans Peter Minderhoud further solidified the Dutch team’s triumph by winning the Grand Prix Freestyle with an impressive score of 81.905%.
The Dutch victory in Rotterdam has elevated them to the top of the FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ series leaderboard, tied with Germany at 35 points. Great Britain follows closely behind in third place with 24 points. The upcoming leg of the series in Aachen promises to be another thrilling chapter in the prestigious competition.
